Walking In The Rain

So I have decided that my design class is the bomb!  All we have done so far is made potato stamps and made pictures out of them. These are my creations!

I am so excited that I am finally taking an art class.  In high school I refused to take any fancy art classes because I was too intimidated of all the Michael Angelo prodigies out there.  I figured once you hit high school, the people who take those classes are freakin' amazing!  Art 'freaks' if you know what I mean.  I didn't need my self esteem to go any lower so I took more fun art classes like calligraphy, which was my favorite class in high school, and also sculpture, which was fun cause I wouldn't do anything for two days then race to get my project done.  My teacher in sculpture was amazing and loved me! haha Almost everyday he would yell at this kid who sat diagonal from me telling him to get to work, while I was sitting there doing absolutely nothing.  Once in a while I'd just clean out my backpack but that's about it.  After he'd yell at that kid, he'd come over to me and ask if I was doing alright and tell me to keep up the good work! haha Man, I was sure lucky.  That same teacher ended up giving me like 5 bucks when I asked if he had any change for the vending machines.  But back to my real store about design..
So right when I get out of my design class I noticed that good ol' mother nature decided to let her tears fall from the heavens.  And of course it just had to be raining when I got out of my last class which just so happens to be my furthest class from my apartment.  Thank goodness I decided to wear a hat that day! What luck right?  As I was walking home I began to think of how I always seem to get stuck in walking in bad weather.  Like the time I went to Provo and my boyfriend was suppose to pick me up but fell back asleep so I had to walk maybe over a half mile or so to his apartment while it was snowing like crazy, and of course it was blowing right into my face.  And to top it off, all I was wearing was a light zip up hoody, jeans, and flats... so needless to say, I got soaked.  But while I was walking in that blizzard, I wasn't particularly mad at my boyfriend at all, I was just trying to enjoy myself and not freeze to death or slip and fall.  The same experience happened when I was walking during this little down pour of rain.  I was walking with a skip in my step and just enjoying myself.  It was really weird.  I didn't get soaked, which was definitely a plus.  Once I got home I was in the bathroom listening to the radio and this song came on.  After searching on the internet trying to remember the lyrics, I finally found it.  It was "Stand In The Rain" by SuperchicK.

Here's the Music video, just listen to the lyrics, the movie is kinda weird.

  1. That potato art is WAY impressive, m'lady! I love it! I also love your optimism. I remember you telling me about that situation w/Zach and the snow and thinking about how mad I would've been--but not you! You were just happy to be enjoying your day. You're a great example.

Now. On to my pet I want you to keep. He is formally known as a Sugar Glider. We call him a flying squrriel (sp), though. He's about the size of my hand. He eats fruit, bugs, cat food, or pellets sold specifically for his breed. We usually just give him fruit and worms. He lives in a cage. You could totally have it. He sometimes 'barks', and it's a little bit cute. It sounds more like a squeek. But, here's the kicker . . . he hasn't been fixed, so he marks his terrority with this pine-coney, smelly stuff. So, his cage doesn't smell awesome. You are totally allowed to have him, if you want! Ha. My mama and I are (probably) going down to STG sometime this weekend.

    Love you!

  2. Thanks haha That's why that class is my favorite! haha We just do fun projects like that. And thank you, I try to stay positive about stuff like that, I'm pretty good at doing that and being forgiving and understanding.

About Rocky, I have a lot of questions haha Can he eat any type of fruit like grapes, bananas, blueberries, and strawberries? How loud is he when he barks and is it usually at night? How powerful is his pine-coney smell? Could I overpower that with a glade plug in right by his cage? And how often do you need to clean his cage? haha Does he bite? Also if you guys do come down this weekend do you think you can bring him down and I can keep him for like a week to see if I can handle it?

  3. Well, you rock at it! Seriously. You're way impressive.

Yeah, he eats any type of fruit. He's pretty easy to feed. Sometimes we just throw an apple in there, and he's good for a few days. Ha. His little bark is usually provoked by our puppies. So, I'm not sure if that'd be too big of an issue. Sometimes certain voice tonalities seem to bug him. Like really high pitches. Oh, and the door bell gets him, on rare occasion. We clean his cage weekly or bi-weekly. It's not too bad. It's not too strong of a sent. If you get right up in the cage's business, it's definitely there, though. I've never been bitten by the littl bugger. He just likes to climb around, when he's being handled. And jump. Jumping is his fav. I'll talk with the lady of my house, and ask her if we're still planning on coming. And. If we do, I will totally call you!

You're a doll. Thanks for being the best.

  4. Oh my that is totally awesome!!! We don't have dogs or really high pitched voices or stuff, except a doorbell. And what do you put in the bottom of his cage? Like newspaper or something? Yes you talk to the lady and I will talk to my brohan and see if it's an ok.

Thanks for the compliments haha I learned from you!
